Where are donations going?

October 2021 – March 2022 book sale proceeds have been donated to the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice (CJCJ)’s Cameo House, a residential alternative sentencing and reentry program for justice-involved women an their children in San Francisco, California. As found in a recent independent evaluation, 100% of participants with substance issues showed decreased use while at Cameo House, 89% achieved one or more of their program goals, and 78% of graduating participants moved into permanent housing. These positive impacts provide a safety net for vulnerable families and boost their long-term wellness.

Next up: All book sale proceeds from April 2022 – September 2022 will be donated to Legal Services for Prisoners with Children (LSPC)’s Family Unity Project. As a national non-profit organization, LSPC organizes communities impacted by the criminal justice system and advocates for to release incarcerated people, to restore human and civil rights, and to reunify families and communities. The Family Unity Project’s purpose is to maintain and strengthen family relationships during and after incarceration.
